City of Ekurhuleni pays tribute to late MMC Andile Mngwevu

Executive Mayor Ald Nkosindiphile Xhakaza led the proceedings, lighting a candle in memory of MMC Mngwevu and recognising his dedication to the people of Ekurhuleni. Mngwevu, the first serving councillor in Ekurhuleni to pass away in office, is remembered for his commitment to public service and his role in advancing local government initiatives. Council has declared an official civic funeral to honour his contribution.

“Our thoughts and prayers remain with his family, colleagues and the community during this difficult time,” a statement by the City read.
