I belong to a group that monitors road conditions and protest actions, a daily occurrence affecting roads in SA. May I make a suggestion. Please, protesters, lodge your protests at the ballot box, or are you still conned with a bucket of fried chicken, a T-shirt and a free bus ride?
You disrupt everyone’s lives, including your own, and gain absolutely nothing. The politicians stay in their ivory towers in their posh suburbs while the ordinary South African returns every day to their badly run town or township, with poor service delivery issues and no jobs. It is time to kick them out.
Let them feel what it is like not to receive a parliamentary salary, and to have to take a taxi or a bus to work if they can find a job. No more blue-light brigade and fancy clothes. Enough is enough.
