TWO neighbours from Houghton Park—Kudzai Mhizha, 26, and Tomudaishe Kufakunesu, 22,—were arrested on Sunday for robbery and masquerading as police officers in Highfield. The pair had been terrorising residents while posing as police officers specialising in drug enforcement. They approached a 28-year-old man in the New Canaan residential area.
Introducing themselves as officers from the CID Drugs unit, they said they were conducting stop-and-search operations. They accused the man of selling drugs and forcibly dragged him into their Honda Airwave vehicle. Once inside, the man was brutally assaulted with the assailants using a wooden broomstick.
The ordeal escalated when they reached Willowvale Road. One of the impostors pushed him from the moving vehicle, leaving him injured on the roadside as they sped away. However, their luck ran out when they attempted to commit a similar crime on a 35-year-old woman.
