THE Ministry of Health says it is collaborating with relevant authorities in order to stop the alleged selling of essential medicines at mining sites in Mpika and Kasempa. The Ministry says reports alleging that drugs, including antiretroviral drugs (ARVs), being sold illegally at mining sites pose serious health risks and violate national laws. In a statement, Friday, Spokesperson Georgia Mutale Chimombo said anyone found responsible would face disciplinary action and possible prosecution.
