Malawi Women’s National Football Team superstar Tabitha Chawinga has made it into the French Women’s Ligue 1 team of the week following her impressive performances. Tabitha scored one goal and provided an assist as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Feminine defeated Lille Women 4-0 away on Sunday. The Malawian also has one goal in the Uefa Women’s Champions League.

Such outstanding performances have compelled authorities in France’s Ligue 1 to give her a place in the team. The former DD Sunshine goal poacher is in the team alongside her PSG teammate Le Guilly and partners Kadidiatou Diani of Olympic Lyonnais. “I have adapted well to the weather conditions here in France and my teammates are giving me all the support,’’ Tabitha said.

She is currently eighth on the top scorers’ chart in the European country’s league with two goals, three behind leader Eugenie Le Sommer of Lyon. Thiney has also scored five goals whereas Lindsey Horan and Faustine Robert of Lyon and Montpellier, respectively, have four goals each. Tabitha is at the French giants on loan from Chinese side Wuhan Jiangda.
