The Cake Factory later released a statement explaining that operations were delayed as a result of the fire. “Dear customers, kindly note that due to the unforeseen event that took place last night, all dispatches will be running a little late today. At this time, we would like to note that no one was injured, and we thank God for that.

“Our staff members thank you for the understanding, support and willingness to work harder, even though they are not in their normal environment,” the statement read. Employees from the other stores could be seen gathering at the part of the building that had not been damaged by the fire yesterday morning attempting to salvage unpacked stock.
