TNM plc says it will host the 2025 TNM Super League Awards on Thursday next week in Blantyre. The awards are expected to bring down the curtain on the mobilde network operator’s 19-year partnership with the country’s flagship football league following the recent unveiling of FDH Bank plc by the Super League of Malawi (Sulom). TNM plc marketing director Sobhuza Ngwenya announced the news at a press briefing in Lilongwe.
“Despite the recent developments which hasve seen our partners Super League of Malawi pulling out, we are still committed to honouring outstanding team, players, match officials and the media. We are working together with Sulom on this event,” he said. He said the event will be held at Sunbird Mount Soche and the awardees will include Player of the Season, Golden Boot winner, Defender of the Season, Midfielder of the Season, Golden Glove, Coach of the Season and the media.
Meanwhile, Ngwenya also confirmed that the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has reached out to them in relation to cup sponsorship. He said: “We are yet to make a decision on that because our focus now is on the awards ceremony. We are taking time to reflect before we can make a decision.

But at an appropriate time when the decision is made we will communicate. “The fact that FAM approached us with this offer shows that we had a good relationship with them and they have trust in us.” Earlier this week, FAM president Fleetwood Haiya said in appreciation for their lengthy partnership with the Super League, they will offer TNM a commemorative cup, “should they wish to remain within the football space”. He said: “And let me say this clearly: if TNM chooses to stay in football, we will continue to give them value perhaps even more than before.
Thank you TNM for the legacy. Thank you for the trust. The door to football remains open.” TNM plc says it will host the 2025 TNM Super League Awards on Thursday next week in Blantyre.
