THE National Sports Councial of Zambia (NSCZ) says sport has continued its steady rise as a pillar of national development. NSCZ CEO Sombwa Musunsa described 2025 as a year of hard lessons, meaningful progress and renewed resolve. Reflecting on the year’s milestones, Musunsa said the period marked a turning point in how sport is positioned within Zambia’s broader socio-economic agenda.
“From the playing fields in our rural communities to modern sporting facilities, sport is truly taking up its rightful place in national development,” Musunsa said. “What we are witnessing is not just competition, but sport being used deliberately as a tool for empowerment, cohesion and opportunity”.
