POLOKWANE –Police are searching for a suspect linked to a severe assault in Mookgophong and the murder of his partner in Seshego on Monday (January 26). Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says officers were called to a residence in Zone 3, Seshego, during the early hours of Monday morning (January 26), where they discovered the lifeless body of a 26-year-old woman in her rented room. “Preliminary investigations reveal the deceased was strangled by her partner, who fled the scene.

The victim was originally from Mookgophong and was a student at a local TVET College.” Further investigations indicate the same suspect is wanted for an attempted murder in Mookgophong, where he severely assaulted another woman with a sharp object before proceeding to Seshego, where he then killed his partner. The motive is unknown, but domestic violence is being considered. Cases of murder and attempted murder are under investigation.
