Harare- Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), has appointed Dr George Munyaradzi Manyaya as chief executive effective February 1. He succeeds the late Karikoga Kaseke who was the last substantive chief executive at the tourism authority. The appointment comes as Zimbabwe aims to boost its tourism sector and become a competitive global destination.
His mandate at ZTA includes positioning Zimbabwe as a premier tourist destination, driving tourism development, enforcing industry standards and facilitating sustainable investment for national growth. With his extensive background in tourism enabling sectors like aviation, transport and energy, Dr Manyaya is well equipped to lead Zimbabwe’s tourism revival .
