IN a society where many persons living with disabilities are forced onto the streets to beg for survival, the story is however different at Bwafwano Centre for Persons with Disabilities in Ndola’s Chifubu Constituency. Home to more than 75 members, Bwafwano Centre is quietly rewriting the narrative around disability, proving that with opportunity, organisation and support, persons with disabilities can build dignified and sustainable livelihoods. As beneficiaries of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), the members of Bwafwano Centre have invested in income-generating projects that are transforming their lives and restoring their sense of purpose.
From poultry rearing to tailoring and plans to venture into sausage production, the centre stands as a powerful example of what inclusive development can achieve. Do you agree that child defilers should be castrated?
