The mission has several pastors who rotate every Sunday. In the video, the woman can be seen approaching the pulpit, grabbing the Bible the pastor was reading from, and returning to the area where other congregants were seated. “You took my virginity,” she can be heard shouting.

In a statement issued on Tuesday night, the mission said, “KwaSizabantu Mission is a place of restoration and care. People from diverse backgrounds, and with a wide range of personal needs, come to the mission and attend its worship services in search of help, healing and hope. “The mission’s calling is to walk alongside those in need with compassion, dignity and understanding.

Many who come to the mission do, in fact, receive the assistance, guidance and care they require,” KwaSizabantu Mission spokesperson Dirk Combrink said. The mission, Combrink said, was concerned about the manner in which some members of the public had interpreted the incident.
