ECONOMIST Bright Chizonde says the country’s 6.4 percent GDP growth projection is attainable, if power supply and other factors are improved. Meanwhile, Economist Trevor Hambayi says there is need to ensure that GDP growth is inclusive and driven by local SMEs so that Zambians can directly benefit from the growth. On Friday, the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry said government had projected a 6.4 percent Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth in 2026, which would be driven by mining, agriculture recovery, Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) expansion and improved electricity supply.

In an interview, Monday, Chizonde said economic gains from the growing mining sector, amidst higher international copper prices would also contribute to the attainment of a 6.4 percent GDP… Do you agree that child defilers should be castrated?
