The man who titles self “Apostle” accused Verenga of attempting to poison him, drawing parallels with a previous incident in which he says he was also poisoned However, in a striking contradiction, Chiwenga gave 2006 as the date of the original poisoning—an account that differs from his previously stated 2016 timeline Chiwenga explained that despite fulfilling all cultural marriage rites in December 2023, he was forced to return his wife to her family just four days after publicly introducing her at the Revelation Gathering in May 2024, citing “irreparable irregularities in her personal life and character.”
