SASSA’s February 2026 grant payment schedule and banking changes explained The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the grant payment schedule for February 2026, as well as the official steps beneficiaries must follow if they want to change their method of payment. According to SASSA, payments will be made over three consecutive days to ensure a smooth and orderly distribution of funds. Grant payment dates for February 2026 are as follows: SASSA has also outlined the correct procedure for beneficiaries who wish to change their banking details or payment method.

Beneficiaries must bring a valid South African ID and proof of account from their bank if the account is new, or a three-month bank statement if it is an old account. They must then visit their nearest SASSA Local Office to complete a consent form allowing SASSA to process the change request. SASSA emphasised the importance of timing when submitting changes. “It is recommended for the change request to be made before the 19th of every month.” SASSA said Beneficiaries are encouraged to follow the official process to avoid payment delays and ensure their grants are paid into the correct account.
