ZAMBIA Sugar has surpassed the $1 billion market-capitalisation on the Lusaka Securities Exchange(LuSE). Zambia Sugar got listed on the LuSE in 1996 and has become the third company on the LuSE to surpass the $1 billion mark in capitalisation other than the Copperbelt Energy Corporation and ZCCM. Speaking during the bell ringing ceremony, Friday, Zambia Sugar Board Chairperson Roseta Chabala attributed the milestone to a stable economy resulting from debt restructuring as well as huge investment ventures by the company itself.
