I hope the South African blue light brigade is keeping up with world news. In particular that the son of the reprehensible Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov is in a coma. “Adam Kadyrov’s motorcade had been travelling at high speed when a collision occurred between several vehicles and a number of people.” So many top ANC officials have been killed travelling at high speed, blissfully unmoved by the many signs that say: “High speed kills.” And so it does, whether you are a top politician or a taxi driver, or a president’s son.

Kadyrov Junior is unconscious, in intensive care after being resuscitated. Kadyrov Senior is himself dying of kidney failure. After two devastating wars, Russia subjugated the Chechen people, as they are now doing to Ukraine. Perhaps the poor people of the Chechen Republic will now regain their freedom from Russian colonialist domination after Kadyrov.
