Supplementary Voters registration period starts

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has appointed a Supplementary Voters’ Registration period starting January 12 to February 12 in respect of all the 61 Constituencies. A press statement from IEC states that the registration exercise shall be carried out at the offices of the principal registration officers for each constituency during working days only.

“Batswana, who did not register for the 2024 general elections, are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to register as voters,” says the release. The statement further says that all Batswana who have attained the age of 18 years, and are in possession of a valid national identity, not disqualified from registering as a voter under Section 6 of the Electoral Act, are called to apply in person for registration during the appointed registration period.BOPA
