Speaking to 5 FM in Lusaka recently, Citizens First party leader declared that he will be President this year! “Let the UPND be ready,I will hammer them here in Lusaka and everywhere else in the country!” bragged the CF leader. He claimed that he’s going to end load shedding and industrialize the country among other things.

He also called upon the opposition to unite if they’re to stand a better chance of dethroning UPND! You see country men and women……naimwe be yufi, it’s absolutely free to dream…..you can go to the extent of imagining yourself King of England in your sleep or even fantasize about owning an exotic Island in Antarctica…..it doesn’t cost a penny! As political pundits of note in this country, we can confirm Kalaba has what it takes to assume the reins of power as President, but definitely not this year or any time soon!

Don’t they say you rush, you crush? Kalaba would do himself a favour by taking the trouble to school himself about the likes of Benjamin Mwila, Dean Mun’gomba, Ng’andu Magande and Humphrey Mulemba who thought that abracadabra or boom …..and you’re President! Politics is about consistency and perseverance.

It had to take President Hichilema several donkey years to finally cross the line. And during this time he had to invest collosal sums of money to build a vast political infrastructure across the nation even as he endured numerous arrests on trumped up charges including treason, and victimization at the hands of a brutal regime desperate to hold to power! This notion of thinking a few provinces can take you to State House must come to an end.

This is what breeds tribalism! A proper political party must have representation in all our 10 provinces. What efforts has Kalaba made to leave foot prints in Shan’gombo, Kashinakazhi or Mugubudu for him to jump to a laughable conclusion he’ll be the next President?

We’d advise the CF leader to give himself ample time to mellow and mature like fine wine. Zambia is not short of leaders at the moment…….his time will definitely come one day. Prince Bill M.
