A’ Level pass rate creeps up to 95.75 percent, ZIMSEC announces

HARARE – The pass rate for the November 2025 Advanced Level examinations improved by 1.17 percent from 94.58 percent in 2024 to 95.75 percent, the Schools Examinations Council announced on Friday. The results became available fromZIMSEC’s websiteon Friday. ZIMSEC said there were 36,635 candidates in total, compared to the 33,585 that sat the exams in 2024.Of that number, 36,282 sat for two or more subjects with 34,740 obtaining grade E or better in two or more subjects.

There were 31,451 school candidates. Of that number, 31,296 candidates wrote two or more subjects with 30,169 recording at least two passes for a 96.39 percent pass rate. Primary and Secondary Education minister Tonderayi Moyo said: “This marks the third consecutive year in which our national examinations have been conducted and concluded without any leakages.

This is a remarkable achievement that underscores the ministry’s unwavering commitment to upholding the integrity and credibility of our examination systems. “It is the direct outcome of deliberate reforms, enhanced monitoring systems, and robust security protocols that we have implemented.”
