The Hawks confirmed that multiple vehicles used in criminal activities were forfeited to the State following court orders in the Northern Cape. Forfeiture orders worth more than R300,000 have been granted to the state following a series of crime-related seizures carried out in the Northern Cape during 2025. According to theDirectorate for Priority Crime Investigation, also known as theHawks, the Kimberley High Court granted the forfeiture orders to the Hawks’ Asset Forfeiture Investigation and theNational Prosecuting Authority Asset Forfeiture Unitafter several successful operations across the province.
Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, also known as the National Prosecuting Authority Asset Forfeiture Unit In one incident, police officers attached to the Serven SAPS were inspecting livestock at the Madibeng community kraals during a livestock auction when they recovered 16 goats suspected of being stolen. The animals were found inside a bakkie, and the suspect was immediately arrested. The vehicle, valued at about R35,000, was seized as it was allegedly used in the commission of the crime.
In a separate case, Vosburg police officials conducting routine patrols spotted a grey GWM single-cab bakkie travelling in the Vosburg policing area while transporting sheep. The driver failed to produce a permit to transport livestock and was arrested on the spot. The vehicle, valued at R115,300, was confiscated and later forfeited to the state.

In another unrelated incident, police recovered six bags of dagga inside a bakkie. The suspects were arrested and the vehicle, worth R41,900, was seized for further investigation before being forfeited to the state.
