Murder accused Victor Mthethwa Majola, made his second court appearance before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday. The man arrested for the brutal murder ofmedia personality Warrick Robert Stock, widely known as DJ Warras, is likely to be released on bail when he returns to the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court next week. This is according to Dumisani Mabunda, the lawyer for 44-year-old Victor Mthethwa Majola, who made a second appearance in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday following his arrest last month.
Dumisani Mabunda, lawyer for murder accused Victor Mthethwa Majola. Mabunda told journalists that the state does not have a strong case against his client and that Majola stands a good chance of being released on bail. “This accused was not arrested at the crime scene, he was not arrested on the same day of the incident, and during the arrest, nothing illegal was found in his possession.
There is nothing that links this particular accused to this particular matter, save to say there is a statement by one of the co-accused whose charges were withdrawn to say that now she links Mr Majola to this particular crime,” said Mabunda. “Except for that, the state has no prima facie case against the accused and we believe that there are exceptional circumstances that he should be released on bail. Obviously they (the court) have to look at the version of the state, and our version, and they have to balance that and make a determination.

“But based on the facts at hand, we are of the view that we have a very good chance of this accused being released on bail, obviously with conditions,” he said. DJ Warras’ family made a heartfelt plea as accused appeared in court On Tuesday,IOL reported that Majolamade a brief appearance in court, where the matter was postponed to 13 January for a formal bail application.
