Police investigate the scene of a double murder in Wesbank, where two victims were found with gunshot wounds on Sunday. Police are investigating the murders of a 43-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man, whose bodies were found inside a house in Wesbank on Sunday. Police were called to the crime scene in Galvandale Street on January 4, just after 1.30 pm, where the victims were found with gunshot wounds.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, said no arrests have been made. “Mfuleni police registered two counts of murder after the bodies of a 43-year-old female and a 37-year-old male were found in a house in Galvandale Street, Wesbank, on Sunday afternoon, January 4, at about 1.30 pm. Police members attended the crime scene where they found the victims with gunshot wounds to their bodies.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, and arrests are yet to be made. The double murder comes just days after two 19-year-old males were shot and killed in Dumezweni Street in Wallacedene, and an 18-year-old female was left wounded last month. The motive for the shooting will form part of the investigation, police said.
