THE National Road Fund Agency (NRFA) has retracted the proposed increase in toll fees to allow for the signing of the required Statutory Instruments. On Sunday, NRFA announced that road tolls for certain vehicle categories would increase effective January 1, 2026. Under the retracted proposal, tolls for small vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, including cars, vans and minibuses with up to 16 seats were set to remain at K20 per passage.
Light vehicles with two axles, weighing between 3.5 and 6.5 tonnes, including minibuses with 17 to 30 seats, were to pay K40, while buses with more than 30 seats were proposed to pay K50 per passage.
