The KwaDukuza community is mourning the tragic deaths of two brothers, who died minutes apart on Thursday. Mourners are anticipated to gather in numbers on Sunday afternoon to bid farewell to brothers Mahen and Dr Yongendira Kista, who were both well-known in the community. When Mahen (59) fell ill, his brother, Yogendiran (57), who was also a medical doctor, was called to assess him.
Realising his condition required urgent medical attention and paramedics were also called. Yogendiran arrived to see his brother and realised it was too late. However, shortly after the paramedics arrived, Yogendiran collapsed and died, moments after the paramedics had just declared his brother dead.
The tragic deaths have come as a huge shock to the family as well as the KwaDukuza community, where the brothers were well-known. Another wrote: “Heartbreaking news of such beautiful souls. My sincerest sympathies to the family.
