According to the Mountain Men, their BRT Unit was alerted at about 11.30am after a member of the public reported that her partner had fallen badly while hiking and was bleeding profusely.

Members of the BRT Unit were immediately dispatched to the scene. A member of the public assisted by taking a medical kit up the mountain, while the injured man’s partner played a crucial role in directing rescuers straight to the location. Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) was notified, and paramedics were later dropped at the scene.

Good communication and coordination between all role players ensured a swift rescue. The injured hiker was subsequently airlifted off the mountain and transported to hospital, where he is receiving treatment for serious injuries.
