A tour guide is then seen approaching the car, picking up the rubbish and returning it to the driver. However, the motorist allegedly throws the litter out again and makes obscene gestures towards the occupants of the tour bus. Smith said littering is an offence under South Africa’s environmental laws and warned that, if identified, the driver could face a fine.
He added that the vehicle involved may also be impounded. Authorities are now seeking public assistance to identify the tour guide who attempted to intervene and the motorist seen in the video.
