B-Metro Reporter A STOLEN Honda Fit Hybrid linked to a string of robberies has been found ditched opposite a house in Lobengula West, Bulawayo.Police say it’s the same car used in a carjacking that shook the CBD just a week ago! The dramatic recovery happened on 31 July at 2PM after officers on patrol along Luveve Road spotted the suspicious, plateless ride.“We developed interest and proceeded to where it was parked,” said Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, adding that the car wasn’t locked and had no keys.A woman at a house near the place where the vehicle was parked told cops the vehicle had mysteriously appeared “around 8AM the previous day.” Inside the abandoned Honda, cops found a small Itel cellphone. The car’s airbags had deployed, and it showed signs of being driven on gravel roads — but bizarrely, no dents were visible.“Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle was stolen in Bulawayo CBD and is the one being implicated in a spate of robbery cases,” said Insp Msebele. The owner of the vehicle was carjacked on 25 July at 10pm.
The Honda Fit is valued at US$6 000.Police are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects still at largeShare on FacebookPost on XFollow usSave
