THE Constitutional Court has dismissed an application by the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) and other CSOs for a conservatory order to suspend the activities of the Technical Committee. The court has ruled that the applicants moved the court “too late in the day”, as the Technical Committee had already concluded its work and submitted its report to the President. In this matter, LAZ, the Non-Governmental Gender Organisations’ Coordinating Council (NGOCC), the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ), the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ), the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB), and the LCK Freedom Foundation cited the Attorney General as the respondent.
