THE International Monetary Fund (IMF) has announced that it has reached a staff-level agreement on the sixth and final review under the 38-month Extended Credit Facility (ECF) with Zambia. This means that subject to approval by the IMF Executive Board, Zambia will receive a disbursement of about $190 million, bringing total disbursements to about $1.7 billion since August 2022. According to a press release by the IMF Communications Department, IMF Mission Chief for Zambia Mercedes Vera Martin said Zambia had significantly reduced macroeconomic imbalances, despite external and domestic shocks during the programme period.
