Beef sector stable despite herd shrinkage

Government has declared Botswana self-sufficient in beef production, even as concerns mount over a shrinking national herd.

The announcement comes at a time when the country continues to position itself as a net beef exporter, producing more than enough to meet both domestic demand and export obligations.
