MULTITUDES of women across Zimbabwe are set to benefit from a major economic boost through a Presidential Women Empowerment Fund,reports Express Mail Zim.Designed to uplift women in agriculture, manufacturing, retail and service sectors the fund will provide not only financial resources but also essential tools like equipment and training to boost productivity and self-sufficiency.At the heart of the initiative lies a vision to equip Zimbabwean women with the means to build sustainable livelihoods, create employment and contribute actively to national development. It’s about more than money; it’s about enabling transformation, independence and long-term impact.The event is slated for September.“This is about restoring dignity and giving women control over their own economic destinies,” said Special Presidential Investment Advisor Dr Paul Tungwarara.Dr Tungwarara is expected to address participants at the launch and outline how access to capital, mentorship and market linkages can elevate women-led ventures into sustainable enterprises.From rural producers of peanut butter and traditional crafts to urban entrepreneurs running tailoring shops, beauty salons and backyard farms women across Zimbabwe are ready.Beneficiaries will be identified through Women’s League structures ensuring grassroots inclusivity.What sets this programme apart is its holistic nature. Seed funding will be paired with mentorship, capacity building, and direct market access a powerful combination to unlock potential.Themed “Empowering Women for National Prosperity,” the launch marks a clear shift from promises to action.
With President Mnangagwa set to personally preside over the ceremony, the message is unmistakable women are central to Zimbabwe’s development vision.The Women’s League has called on development agencies, local authorities and the private sector to align their efforts in supporting the fund’s long-term success by creating more platforms for women to thrive.As the countdown begins, excitement is mounting.
