Dr. Dhaval Gameti of Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad confirmed that they have received a total of 270 bodies.

According toCBS News, most of the bodies were severely charred or mutilated, thus complicating the identification process. Hundreds of grieving relatives have since submitted DNA samples to aid in identification.

Meanwhile, the lone survivor who miraculously survived the catastrophic crash is currently under medical supervision and receiving treatment for injuries.

Investigators recovered the plane’s digital flight data recorder—widely referred to as the black box—on Friday from the rooftop of a building close to the crash site.

The device is believed to contain crucial information that could shed light on what led to the fatal crash.
