A thirteen year old Chatsworth girl who fled with an adult man last week has been found by Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa). According to Rusa spokesman, Prem Balram, the girl, who is in grade eight, is believed to be pregnant. The girl’s family had taken him in after a domestic dispute with his relatives who resided next door.

“The mother of the teenager then allowed the adult to share a bed with her minor daughter,” said Balram. He said reaction officers followed up on tip-offs from the general public and established that the couple was travelling between Phoenix and Chatsworth and briefly relocated to an informal settlement in Welbedact. The female had communicated with several people, informing them that she was pregnant.

“This morning (Tuesday) reaction officers once again received a lead regarding the child’s location and her intention to visit a local clinic to confirm her pregnancy. Officers monitored several locations simultaneously and eventually located the female in an Uber travelling in Phoenix,” he said. Balram added the vehicle was stopped and the child was identified.
