Trade deficit narrows sharply

Botswana’s trade deficit narrowed significantly in the first nine months of 2025, helped by a strong rebound in second-quarter exports that offset the deep shortfalls recorded at the beginning and end of the period.

Statistics Botswana data show the cumulative deficit fell to about P8.2 billion between January and September, from P22.3 billion in the same period last year.
