Police divers have rescued a child at Table Bay Harbour. Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that a search had taken place at the harbour when the man and the child disappeared underneath the water. During an earlier response, Twigg said the Table View police and SAPS divers were on the scene in Table Bay Harbour where a man and a child were spotted in the water. The child was retrieved from the water, and the search for the man was ongoing at the time.

Later, Twigg confirmed that the manโ€™s body had been recovered. SAPS could not confirm whether it was a suicide, but that the circumstances are currently under investigation. โ€œTable Bay Harbour police registered an inquest for investigation after the body of an adult male was retrieved from the water on Thursday morning, December 4.
