By Dorrothy Moyo | ZimEye | Tragedy struck early this morning along Chiremba Road in Harare, where a motorbike courier rider working for Kayz Courier Services was fatally hit by a vehicle.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the man, who was traveling along the busy road on his motorbike, was struck by a silver Toyota Passo. The impact of the collision was severe, and the courier was killed instantly.

Emergency services arrived swiftly, but the rider had already succumbed to his injuries. His body was covered on the roadside as stunned onlookers and fellow motorists gathered at the scene.

The motorbike, clearly marked with the branding of Kayz Courier Services, lay overturned a few meters from the lifeless body, while the damaged vehicle involved remained at the scene as investigations commenced.

Traffic along Chiremba Road was temporarily disrupted as police and medical responders secured the area and conducted a preliminary assessment.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been officially released, pending notification of next of kin.

This tragic incident adds to the growing concerns about road safety in Harare, particularly involving motorbike couriers, who are increasingly present on the roads due to the surge in delivery services.

Authorities are urging drivers and motorcyclists alike to exercise extreme caution and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent further loss of life on the roads.
