By A Correspondent – The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has confirmed that the ruling Zanu PF party won all six wards contested in by-elections held on Saturday.
Zanu PF secured three contested victories, with Tafadzwa Mukandi winning in Chikomba Ward 10, Austin Phikeleletaking Chiredzi Ward 4, and Taongashe Fiona claiming Marondera Ward 6.
The ruling party also bagged three uncontested wins after the opposition failed to field candidates in Mazowe RDC Ward 19 and Gutu RDC Wards 10 and 14.
ZEC deputy chairperson Rodney Kiwa confirmed the uncontested victories during a press briefing in Harare on Thursday.
“The winning candidates are Fibian Muzire for Gutu RDC Ward 10, Katinos Mudadi for Gutu RDC Ward 14, and Tichaona Muskwe for Mazowe RDC Ward 19,” said Kiwa.
The uncontested wards were declared won after the Nomination Court sat on 26 June 2025, with Zanu PF candidates emerging unopposed.
