The national arts council of zimbabwe (nacz), zimbabwe national traditional dancers association (zntda), and delta beverages have confirmed with deep sorrow a tragic road accident that claimed the lives of three members of the sekusile sitshikitsha dance group on 20 july 2025. The deceased have been identified as ms. S. Mpofu, ms. I.T. Mike, and mr. L. Mazara. Several other group members sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving medical attention outside of hospital care. In a joint statement, nacz, zntda, and delta beverages expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved families and to the sekusile sitshikitsha dance group. “the loss of ms. Mpofu, ms. Mike, and mr. Mazara has left an irreplaceable void in our artistic community,” read the statement.

Funeral and memorial arrangements will be communicated in due course.
