BULAWAYO – Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube has confirmed that the Zimbabwe government has bought the Monomotapa Crowne Plaza Hotel in Harare to accommodate Members of Parliament during sittings.
Ncube surprised MPs attending a pre-budget seminar in Bulawayo on Wednesday by telling them the government had purchased the 182-bed hotel in central Harare from African Sun through the public service pension fund in August.
“Did we ever tell the MPs that we bought them a hotel? If you allow me, I’m going to announce today that we have bought you a hotel. It’s Monomotapa Hotel.
