Online ReporterA Harare man, Astola Musa, has been ordered by the Harare Civil Court to pay US$100 monthly for the upkeep of his four children pending DNA test results.The ruling followed an application by Elizabeth Beseni for US$300 for the maintenance of her four children.Beseni told the court that one of the children has not been attending school this term due to unpaid fees.She also asked the court to compel Musa to contribute towards groceries.Musa offered to pay only US$20, claiming that the eldest and youngest children were not his children.The court asked whether he was willing to undergo DNA testing, and he agreed.When questioned further, Musa confirmed that his US$20 offer was meant for the two children he acknowledged as his.Musa told the court he was paying bills for his other wife who recently suffered a miscarriage.He also said he is currently repaying a US$97 loan.Magistrate Hannah Fazilahmed ruled that Musa must pay US$100 monthly for three months while waiting for the DNA test results.Leave a ReplyCancel reply
