Kigali, Rwanda – October 29, 2025 – The African Union Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy and Sustainable Environment, H.E. Mr. Moses Vilakati, has called on African nations to reclaim control of their food systems, strengthen agricultural sovereignty, and transform the continent’s agri-food sector into a driver of dignity and prosperity.

He was speaking today in his keynote address during the 21st Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme Partnership Platform (CAADP PP) and the 16th Africa Day for Food and Nutrition Security (ADFNS), held in Kigali, Rwanda.
