Getting yourTrinity Audioplayer ready…BULILIMA – October 26, 2025 –In a significant move to combat drug and substance abuse, a new Telemedicine booth was unveiled in Bulilima on Sunday, establishing a digital frontline in the community’s healthcare and social well-being.The event, attended by over 1000 people, positioned the facility as a critical tool for intervention, counselling, and support, directly addressing one of the nation’s most pressing challenges.

The initiative, a partnership between NetOne and ZimSmart Village, is the 11th such booth to be launched nationally, highlighting a sustained commitment to community-level health solutions.The Guest of Honour, the local Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services, Honourable Dingumuzi Phuthi, emphasised the strategic importance of the project.“This is more than just technology; it is a lifeline for our youth,” stated Honourable Phuthi.

“The fight against drug abuse requires innovative solutions, and this booth provides a confidential and immediate connection to professional help, breaking down the barriers of stigma and distance that often prevent people from seeking care.”The launch was bolstered by the presence of high-level dignitaries, including the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Honourable Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu, and Mr Richard Ndlovu of the Politburo, signalling strong governmental support for this tech-driven approach to a social ill.A speech presented on behalf of NetOne by Public Relations Manager, Mr Ernest Magadzire, reinforced the company’s role as a corporate champion for social good.“NetOne is committed to being a partner in sustainable development.
