Celebs & EntertainmentNewsSportsBy Nyasha ChumaHarare- THE Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has this week officially advertised the vacant Warriors head coach position following the sacking of German gaffer Michael Nees this month.According to the job notice, the national association is seeking a highly qualified and experienced tactician to lead the senior men’s national tea with stringent requirements aimed at attracting a top-tier professional.The advert specifies that applicants must hold a CAF Pro Licence or UEFA Pro Licence, or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification.
A tertiary degree in Sport Science, Coaching or Football Management will also be considered an added advantage.In terms of experience, candidates are expected to possess at least five years of professional coaching experience at national team or top-tier club level.“The successful applicant must have demonstrable experience in major African competitions such as the AFCON, CAF Champions League, Confederation Cup, or COSAFA tournaments,” partly read the statement.ZIFA emphasised on an individual who achieves results managing national competitions and strong leadership and man management skills, advanced tactical knowledge, excellent communication and media relations and a high degree of professionalism.ZIFA said a competitive performance based remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with qualifications and experience.The head coach vacancy follows the dismissal of Nees who was relieved of his duties after a disappointing run of results in international fixtures.His tenure began with optimism and ended amid growing pressure from fans and football stakeholders calling for a change in technical direction.The new appointment will be expected to rebuild the Warriors and restore national pride as Zimbabwe prepares for upcoming international assignments.Several names have been thrown around including former Liverpool and Warriors goalkeeper Bruce Grobeelar.Leave a ReplyCancel reply
