School head in court over misuse of US$84k

THE director and head of Greystone Nursery School in Harare, Candice Cherry Prinsloo (52), appeared in court yesterday accused of misappropriating school funds amounting to US$84 000.

Prinsloo, who faces charges of fraud, was granted bail of US$300 by Harare Magistrate Mr Artwell Sanyatwe.

According to the prosecution, led by Mr Lawrence Gangarahwe, Prinsloo is a minority shareholder in the school, holding 49 percent, and is responsible for its operations. As part of her duties, she was tasked with receiving cash payments for school fees and depositing the funds into the school’s CABS Bank Corporate Nostro account.
