On 10 May 2025, the National Gallery of Zimbabwe pulsed with energy, colour, and creativity as artists and audiences gathered forHarmonies of Expression— a groundbreaking exhibition hosted by EUNIC Zimbabwe in collaboration with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe. Themed“Connecting Art, Heart and Science,”the event showcased how artistic expression can be a powerful tool for inspiring climate awareness and sustainable action. Led by Sweden as the Presidency of EUNIC Zimbabwe, the festival featured an exciting lineup of multidisciplinary collaborations between Zimbabwean creatives and artists from seven European countries.

From upcycled fashion and sculptural installations to vegan cuisine, interpretive dance, and climate-themed music performances, the event embodied a celebration of innovation, sustainability, and cultural exchange. “Harmonies of Expression reflects Sweden’s ongoing commitment to inclusive partnerships, climate resilience, and the power of creativity to drive meaningful change,” said the Swedish Embassy in Harare. The day opened with a powerful climate panel bringing together scientists, artists, and community leaders to discuss the intersection of environmental science and artistic engagement.

Broadcast in local languages to 14 community radio stations across Zimbabwe, the conversation expanded access and participation, ensuring the message of climate action reached deep into communities.
