A LEADING private boarding school, Knowstics Academy, has been put up for sale after its owners lost a legal battle to Getbucks Microfinance Bank Limited over an unsettled debt. Two junior school blocks and offices, two student hostels offering 18 rooms, each fitting up to five beds, complete with bathrooms, dining and television rooms, are also up for sale. A clinic, a gym area, and an incomplete school hall, 11 staff houses, recreational and agricultural facilities, boreholes, and water tanks have also been listed among the items that are up for sale.
In a notice of sale, Realty World (Pvt) Ltd Zimbabwe said they have been instructed by the Sheriff of the High Court to offer the immovable property up for sale by private treaty. The notice calling for buyers describes the institution’s infrastructure as “massive.” It’s the latest chapter in what has been a troubled phase for the top private school. Last year, the school was placed under corporate rescue and the school’s governing body was replaced.
