A 19-YEAR-OLD man, who sexually assaulted a hen, has been sentenced to eight months in prison after he was convicted of bestiality. According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, Carrington Mutasa, from Piki Village under Chief Zimunya, however, escaped jail after three months of his sentence were suspended for five years, and the remaining five months were commuted to 175 hours of community service. The court proved that on September 16 2025, at around 5.30pm, Mutasa went to the complainant’s home and unlawfully entered the fowl run, since no one was at home.

He grabbed a hen and sexually abused it. After the act, he was seen leaving the fowl run by the complainant’s granddaughter, who raised alarm. The complainant then inspected the hen and discovered that it had been injured.
