The 2025 regional award winners will be announced online in November 2025, with finalists from major categories expected to advance to the global stage, with the international ceremony set to take place in Paris next April. The awards, which celebrate outstanding female leaders in fields such as sustainability, humanitarian work, technology, education and innovation, aim to empower women across the globe. According to event organisers, the initiative seeks not only to recognise individual accomplishments, but also to inspire others to create change in ways both big and small.

In a statement, Mhlanga said she was committed to transforming lives through education, empowerment and equitable healthcare. With over two decades of experience in public health and community development, she has spearheaded initiatives to uplift marginalised populations across Africa, particularly women and children. Her work has included tackling gender-based violence, improving maternal health outcomes and building leadership among young women.
