Police revealed that one of the suspects, identified as 28-year-old Blessing Kennes, has since been arrested.

His accomplice, named as Remember Glademore Fambauone, is still at large.

Police spokesperson Commissioner Nyathi confirmed the developments, saying: “The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of Blessing Kennes (28) in connection with cases of unlawful entry into premises and theft, which occurred at a house in Springville, Ruwa, on 6th June 2025, where cash and valuables worth US$190,000 were stolen. ”The suspect, along with his accomplice, Remember Glademore Fambauone, who is yet to be arrested, allegedly broke into the house and stole US$182,050 in cash.

Detectives recover cash, pistol and vehicles According to the police, detectives from the CID Homicide unit launched a manhunt after receiving crucial intelligence.

On 13th August 2025, they cornered Kennes in the Tsiga area of Mbare, Harare.

Commissioner Nyathi explained how the operation unfolded: “Detectives acted on received information and tracked Blessing Kennes to Tsiga Area in Mbare, Harare, where he was subsequently arrested, leading to the recovery of US$20,250 (R366,000) in cash and a Derya Pistol. ” Investigators also seized a Toyota Nadia, which was allegedly purchased with stolen funds.

Police say Kennes and Fambauone had already started spending the stolen money.

Investigations revealed that Fambauone used part of the cash to buy a property in Crowhill, Harare, for US$10,000 (R181,000).

He also purchased a Nissan NV350 for US$14,300 (R258,000) and gave US$5,600 (R101,000) to his mother for safekeeping in Minundirwa Village, Rusape.

So far, police have recovered a total of US$55,150 (R997,000) in cash and property linked to the case.

Manhunt for fugitive intensifies With one suspect behind bars, police say their focus is now on bringing the remaining fugitive to justice.

Commissioner Nyathi appealed to the public for assistance: “Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Remember Glademore Fambauone.

Anyone with information should feel free to contact the National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631, WhatsApp 0712 800 197 or report to any nearest Police Station. ” The ZRP has assured the public that more recoveries are expected as the manhunt intensifies.
